Welcome to Sasebo Elementary School

On behalf of the administration, staff and students of Sasebo Elementary School, I would like to welcome you to our school. We are located in the Dragon Crest housing area adjacent to Fleet Activities Sasebo, in Sasebo, Japan. The school supports the families of personnel assigned to Seventh Fleet as well as the many logistical commands required by the fleet. The base itself is located in picturesque Sasebo, Japan along the Sasebo Bay. The lovely 99 Islands area is at our door.

Sasebo Elementary School was formally a part of E.J. King Unit School. In the spring of 2003, the school was administratively separated from the middle/high school to stand alone as an elementary school. We now completely occupy our 21st century building. The elementary school contains programs for Preschool Children with Disabilities, Sure Start, Kindergarten, and one through fifth grades. Attendance will fluctuate due to continued construction on campus and a new zoning plan. Enrollment will be approximately 215-230 students. Staffing consists of approximately 40 professional individuals who take great pride by offering a highly quality program of excellence.

A newly constructed three floor 21st Century Sasebo Elementary School was completed in March 2019. This new facility opened in August for the 2019 - 2020 school year. An official Ribbon Cutting Program for the new Sasebo Elementary School took place on 25 September 2019.
